Rare Books Stolen
Thieves stole 100 old books and manuscripts—including a rare 1487 edition of Dante’s ‘The Divine Comedy’’—during a week-end raid on a library in Brescia The haul was estimated to be worth several million lire. Six early Bibles were among the items stolen from the Uga da Como Foundation Library.—Brescia, Aug. 19.
