DEEP COVE, DOUBTFUL SOUND, photographed from a floatplane crossing over Wilmot Pass (2225ft above sea-level) on a flight from Lake Manapouri to the sound. The former trans-Tasman liner Wanganella will be berthed for four years in this sound in the stretch of water nearest to the camera. The wharf will probably be on the left side of the bay.
