No Penalty Imposed
Avante and Deft received no handicapping penalty when they deadheated for first in the August Handicap on Saturday. This is in line with the policy adopted by the New Zealand Trotting Conference in the last 12 months. This is the second occasion this year that Avante has figured in a dead-heat for first and received no penalty. He dead-heated for first with Cairnbrae at Forbury Park last January. The stakes from the two deadheats have been worth £750.
