CYCLING K. Jeffery Wins Ralston Memorial Race

The main cycling attraction on Saturday was the 50-mile Ralston Memorial race, conducted by the Hornby Cash Cycling Club. This race was also the South Island 50-mile championship. J. Jeffery (Christchurch) took the senior title and R. Heasley (Dunedin) became the new junior titleholder. For the amateurs there was an open 40-mile event on a circuit starting from Woodend. Ralston Memorial G. Moore (Ashburton), who won the title in this event in 1959 was the winner of the race on Saturday.
