CAR OVER BANK
One Killed, Four Hurt (N.Z. Prtst Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug 18. „ One young man was killed and four others had lucky escapes from serious injury when their car left the road and plunged ovet a bank near Waitara, New Plymouth, about 12.20 a.m. yesterday. The dead man was: Michael James Hodgson, aged 22, of 53 Gaine street, New Plymouth. The driver, Leslie Williams, aged 21, of 9 Wrantage street. New Plymouth, was admitted to the New Plymouth Hospital with a suspected broken nose, concussion and minor injuries. Duncan Marcroft, aged 21, ot 40 Buller street, New Plymouth, Lionel Berge, aged 21, of 40 Buller street, New Plymouth, and Lionel Wharepourl, aged 17. of 47 Cooke street, New Plymouth, suffered minor abrasions.
