RADIO TIME IN ELECTION
Social Credit “Is Still Waiting" ‘"The Social Credit League is still awaiting an approach by the Government to discuss the allocation of radio and television time in the General Election,” said the leader of the league, Mr V. F. Cracknell, when commenting on an announcement by the Prime Minister that the joint committee of the Labour and National Parties was still considering its decision. “The Prime Minister promised in the middle of May that the major parties would be included in discussions, but his latest statement indicates that only the Government and the Labour Party will have a say,” he added. “This is an antithesis of democratic procedure as far as the league is concerned. We have stood 80 candidates for the last three elections and are standing 80 in November. We are accepted as the third party in New Zealand politics. “For Mr Holyoake to mention only the newly-formed Liberal Party in his statement is merely drawing a red herring across the Government's dictatorial trail,” said Mr Cracknell.
