“TOTE WILL WIN”
Our Australian correspondent writes: "Racing Is slipping from the news a little to be replaced with headlines on whether New South Wales Is to have offcourse betting with totalisator agencies or with starting price bookmakers.
"Those for the tote system comprise the major racing clubs which, by the way, do not have the full backing of the country clubs. Those for betting with bookmakers are the illegal commission agents, as they call themselves, who apparently have a big fund for advertising in the newspapers.
“The feeling is that tote’ will win." he says.
