Fire At Radio Station

Early breakfast listeners to 2YA about 7 am. today listened <m without knowing that a fire in the boiler-room had sent clouds of suffocating smoke into the announcing and control rooms, forcing the staff to leave them temporarily.
The programme was switched and broadcast direct from the Titahi Bay transmitter.
Normal broadcasting from 2YA resumed soon after 8 a.m.
