MISSION TO LEPERS
£ll,OOO Rise In Income The income of the Mission to Lepers in New Zealand for the first six months of the financial year has risen to £ll,OOO above last year’s figure for the same period. “This increase, mainly from legacies, is very gratifying in view of the mission’s growing needs,” said the Christchurch area secretary of the mission (Miss M. G. Titheridge) reporting on a recent New Zealand council meeting in Wellington. The council made a grant of £lOOO from its jubilee fund to support New Zealand workers at Hombolo leprosarium in Tanganyika, which is run by the Church Missionary Society and is under the charge of Mr W. G. L. Hart, of Waiau. With the money the mission receives from tea coupons the council decided to build a ward at the Anandaban leprosarium in Nepal.
