Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer in Marine Engineering. Applicants should hold a Ministry of Transport Certificate of Competency as Extra First Class Engineer, Steam and Motor, or a Certificate of Comgetency as First Class Engineer, team and Motor, and a Higher National Diploma. Candidates with teaching experience will be preferred. SALARY SCALE Lecturer: Malayan Dollar 750 x 35-960/1030 X 35-1100 X 401380/- per month. One Malayan Dollar equals 2s 4d Sterling approximately at present. The point of entry in the above salary scale will depend on qualifications, teaching experience, and industrial experience. In addition, there is a variable allowance which at present is 35 per cent, for salaries Malayan Dollar 506/- per inonth and upwards with a maximum of Malayan Dollar 150/- per month for a single officer. Malavan Dollar 280/- per month for 'a married officer, and Malayan Dollar 400/- per month for an officer with dependent chUd/children. Overseas 'appointees who are normally domiciled outside the Malaysia region are also paid an expatriation allowance of Malayan Dollar 200/- per month. ACCOMMODATION : Board and residence is provided for single appointees and it is anticipated that some partially furnished residential accommodation may be available for married appointees.
