9 p.c. Dividend Forecast (N.Z. Press Association’) • WELLINGTON, July 23. The direction were confident that the present 9 per cent, dividend could be maintained subject to normal trading' conditions, says the chairman of James Smith, Ltd. (Mr D. A. Smith), in a prospectus released today which announces details of the offer of 400,000 fully paidup 5s shares. The fully paid-up shares are being offered at 7s 6d a share.
In the year ended July 19. 1982. the company made a net profit of £63,208. which covered the 9 per cent, dividend 1.87 times. The dividend took £33.750 and £29,458 was available tor transfer tn reserves.
The offer will open on August 2 and is due to close a week later. Application has been made to the Stock Exchange Association for official lasting.
