WITNESS WARNED
(N.Z. Preu Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, July 21. Sydney Police are guarding a housewife who saw tKe machine-gun kill) ng of Robert Walker in a Randwick street nearly two weeks ago. The woman, Mrs Ann Tait, mother of three teenage children, has been warned in a note:
“Be like the three wise monkeys. Forget what you saw in the street or you’ll go toe same way as Walker.”
Since then, her flat has been entered several times and ransacked in a war of nerves to keep her silent. The note was pencilled in block letters on a telegram form. Police took possession of the note and have patrolled toe street outside Mrs Tait’s home since.
