ESCAPER GAVE UP
Out For Two Hours (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 17. An escaped prisoner approached a Wellington police constable tonight and said, 'T’ve been looking for you." The escaper was Hilton John Barrett, aged 31, an Australian, who had only about two hours’ freedom from Mount Crawford prison. A trusted prisoner who had served one year of a two-year sentence for burglary, Barrett escaped some time between 5.45 and 7.30 p.m.
