Casualties On Ruapehu
(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, June 30. Five skiers were admitted to Taumarunui Hospital at the week-end after accidents on Ruapehu. The injuries included two fractured arms, a suspected arm fracture, and two broken ankles. Ski patrol men attended to countless cuts and abrasions. Large crowds of people were attracted to the mountain for the first satisfactory ski-ing week-end this winter, but large patches of ice in the snow on Ruapehu made skiing dangerous.
