Shed Destroyed By Fire
A shed containing a heating unit, next to a glasshouse at the Disabled Servicemen’s Centre in Riccarton road, was destroyed by fire about 4.50 a.m. yesterday. Units from the Central and Sockburn stations attended. An oven fire at the home of Raymond George Walsh, 12 Russell street, was attended by one unit from the Woolston station at 11.2 a.m. One unit from the Central station went to an oven fire at the home of Edward Balloch, 14 Bishop street, at 11.39 a.m.
A fire in an M.E.D. electrical cable in Armagh street, between Manchester and Barbadoes streets, was extinguished by two units from the Central station at 7 3 p.m. on Saturday
