MISS WILLIS INVITED
880 Yards In Christchurch
The New Zealand Amateur Athletics Association will be asked to invite the world record-holder .Miss Dixie Willis, and the top Australian miler who is available, to compete in Christchurch during Labour Week-end. This was decided at a meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Centre last evening. Miss Willis would compete against Miss M. A. M. Chamberlain. of Canterbury, in a women’s 880 yards race, and the Australian miler against P. G. Snell and J. L. Davies. A letter from the New Brighton Amateur Athletics Club said that the meeting was being organised by a group of New Brighton businessmen, and Rothmans.
