Students Visit “The Press”
As one of the first steps in the introduction of a course in graphic design, students of the Canterbury University School of Fine Arts visited ‘'The Press” yesterday with their tutor, Mr M. V. Askew, senior lecturer in design at the school.
Mr Askew hopes to build a course including typography for application to advertising. package, printing, and other design. The visit to “The Press” was far from being a normal layman’s visit to a newspaper office. Mr Askew said. He said the school had a small press of its own and it was hoped to obtain a larger one as the course developed.
