BRIDES COPY PRINCESS
Hire Orders For Goivn
Many English brides-to-be are having wedding dresses made in a style similar to that of the elegant gown worn by Princess Alexandra, created from 55 yards of lace, 30 yards of net and seven yards of poult. But British working girls, who cannot afford this amount of material, are using less lace of cheaper qualities to get the resemblance.
The day after the Royal wedding, a London wedding hire firm showed a recognisable copy of Princess Alexandra’s gown in a front window and the proprietor was deluged with orders for the hire of it. Princess Alexandra has revived the fashion for fulllength, lace bridal veils lined with net.
