Union Attitude To F.O.L.

The North Island Electrical Workers’ Union cannot "genuinely consider rejoining the Federation of Labour until such time as all bans on individuals and organisations are lifted and practices removed.” The union’s annual conference decided this today after its Auckland branch had asked it to reconsjder moves for reaffiliation after its decision by ballot last year to disaffiliate The conference also authorised the union's secretary to consult with unions outside the FOL. to define policy on any future industrial disputes which may arise or any other issue of mutual interest. »
First Aid for Teachers.— The Ardmore Teachers’ College has become the first training college in New Zealand to incorporate a first aid course into its curriculum. The course is compulsory and will include instruction for civil disaster.— (PA.)
