(A'Z Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 12. A Labour Government would seek to control hirepurchase interest rates, the deputy-Leader of the Opposition (Mr Watt) told the North Island Electrical Workers’ Union annua] conference today The party recognised that hire purchase was part of the economy, and for many persons it was the only way to get even the necessities of life, but it also knew that some persons were paying as much as 20 and 30 per cent, interest, and there was a clear need for control.
