Endurance ?
Sir, —These days one hears much of feats of endurance —pole-sitting, marathons, etc. Why not something new, say. in the abstentious line? For this you need one pub, and the usual motley collection of bods surrounding a school of six or eight, and one volunteer to hold one glass of —? Rules: should be held during the mad hour. Before six, nine, midnight; anyone will do. Volunteer to stand in the midst of school and endeavour not to bend the elbow every time the rest do. Test would be made much more interesting if drink was supplied by publican or press. —Yours, etc., D. G. McKIE. Little River, June 11, 1963.
