‘ SYDNEY, June 11. The Australian Rugby Union today ruled the full-back. J. Lenehan as unfit for the Wallaby tour of South Africa
Lenehan had returned to Sydney from Perth, where he suffered a recurrence of a knee injury in the match against Western Australia on Saturday before the rest of the Wallabies left for South Africa.
The Sydney full-back. T. Casey, was chosen to replace Lenehan He was in a "shadow” team selected for such an emergency
Lenehan today consulted two orthopaedic specialists who had examined X-ray plates of his knee.
The Australian union medical officer said Lenehan would be unfit to play international football for four weeks. He added that the specialists had recommended that Lenehan play no further games this season and seek orthopaedic treatment. The Australians play their first match against Eastern Transvaal at Springs on Saturday. Eastern Transvaal’s team is B. Mulder, H. Horn, W. Lsbuschagne, A. Spies. A. Buitendach, N. Riley, D. Watt (captain). H. Badenhorst. J. Gobler. J. Kruger. W. Dercksen, E. Claassen, N. Naude, O. Jacobsohn, L. Nel.
