PLANE OVER MANGERE
Assurance By Aero Club
(N.Z. Pres* Association) AUCKLAND, June 11.
The light aircraft which Ministry of Works employees believed attempted to land on the uncompleted runway at Mangere airport was today identified as an Auckland Aero Club training plane. Mr J. S. Bergman, a senror instructor of the ctub. said he was taking a pupil through forced-landing drill over the runway. There had been no intention of making a landing on the runway. Club pilots would not in future, fly below 500 feet over the airport. An official of the Civil Aviation Administration said a complaint had been received. but no action would be taken in view of the assurance given by the club.
Patient Caught.—A patient who escaped from the Sunnyside Hospital early yesterday morning was caught in the city in the afternoon after a search by police and attendants from the hospital.
