Cycling NEW PRESIDENT ELECTED
Mr R. Carruthers
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 9. Mr R. Carruthers, of Wellington, was elected president of the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association at its annual meeting yesterday. Mr Carruthers, who is the Canterbury centre’s resident delegate on the association's national council, defeated the only other nominee. Mr C. J. Cronk, of Auckland. Other officers elected were:— Vice-presidents, Messrs E. V. Calkin (Marton). W. S. Williams (Christchurch), H. J. Dutton (Raumati), O. J. Henderson (Invercargill), and N. M. Walls (Foxton); secretarytreasurer. Mr V. R. Ross; Olympic and British Empire Games Association executive. Mr H. R. Dutton; games association council, .Messrs I. M. Plimmer and C. G. Clark: delegates to New Zealand Cycling Federation, Messrs L. S. Frickleton. G. W. Clarke and V. R. Ross: selectors. Messrs H. R. Dutton and D. G. Humphries. National championship allocations for 1964 were: grass track, Hawke's Bay-Poverty Bay; hard track, Southland: road. Waikato.
