Rugby NO MATCH IN CALIFORNIA
All Black Plans “Very Severe” (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 10. A request from the Rugby Football Union of Northern California that the 1963-64 All Blacks play a match ait San Francisco on their way home from the United Kingdom and France has been declined by the New Zealand Union. Today’s meeting of the N.Z.R.F.U. executive decided with regret that at this late stage it could not accept the invitation. “We have a very severe programme and I. do not think we should add to it,” said the chairman, Mr T. C. Morrison. Mr J. N. Millard, manager of the 1953-54 All Blacks, said his team’s visit to San Francisco had been one of the most interesting parts of the tour. He was surprised that Northern California had not applied earlier.
