“HAVE A SHOT ON TV”

Public vote will this year decide places in the semifinals of the television programme “Have a Shot on TV.” which last year proved to be one of the most popular presentations televised in New Zealand.
In Christchurch last year more than 150 persons entered—more than the organisers could cater for, and entries this year are again expected to be heavy. The show will be presented each Tuesday evening, beginning on August 6. All items will be limited to two minutes and a half. Viewers will post in their votes and the most popular performers will be announced each Friday. Popular vote will decide the provincial semi-final winners, but a panel of judges will decide the provincial and national finals.
There will be 12 preliminarv rounds and three semifinals before each channel in the country holds its provincial finals. The winner of the provincial final will receive £lOO, runner-up £5O. and third place-getter £25. In the national final the winner will receive £3OO, with £lOO and £5O prizes for second and third places. Vocal and instrumental items formed most of the acts presented last year, but a wide variety of others included puppeteers, magicians, comedians, and jugglers.
