Obituary MR A. R. HARVEY
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 10.
Mr Alan Robert Harvey, a senior lecturer at the Auckland Teachers’ College, died at Green Lane Hospital on Saturday morning after a sudden illness. He was 46. Born at Greymouth, Mr Harvey was educated at Greymouth Technical College, Canterbury University College, Auckland University College. Christchurch Teachers’ College and Auckland Teachers’ College. In 1949 he was appointed to the staff of the Auckland Teachers’ College as a lecturer in geography. When the post-primary teacher studentship scheme was initiated in 1956 he was appointed senior lecturer under the scheme at the Auckland Teachers’ College.
CAPT. R. L. WARREN
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 10. Captain R. L. Warren, marine superintendent of the New Zealand Shipping Company, since January, 1957, died recently after a brief illness. Captain Warren served two years in H.M.S. Worcester before joining the shipping company as an apprentice in September, 1923. He leaves a wife, a son, end two married daughters.
