STONEMASONS’ AWARD
Stonemasons and terrazzo workers will get an extra 6Jd an hour under the terms of a new aw'ard back-dated to April 18. Their minimum rates are now 7s 6d an hour.
Head polishers will receive an increase of 4d, polishers, saw-tenders and crane drivers 4A*d, and all other workers covered by the aw r ard, 3Jd. Their minimum rates now are 6s B**d, 6s s|d, and 6s l%d respectively. An additional clause in the award specifies that employers must supply workers on gang saws with suitable overalls They will also be responsible for laundering. Shotting machine operators must be supplied with waterproof aprons and short leggings.
An unqualified preference clause was granted
