Begg Profit Up Sharply
(N Z Press Association) DUNEDIN. June 10. Charles Begg and Company. Ltd. has increased its consolidated net profit this year by £35.944, or 36 8 per cent. According to a pre-audit announcement today the company’s after-tax profit for the year ended March 31, 1963. was £133.524 This was struck after providing £163.000 for taxation, and £57 359 for depreciation Last year the net tax paid profit was £97.580 with taxation provision at £97,000 and provision for depreciation at £42.159 The board will recommend to shareholders at the annual meeting in Dunedin on July 25 a dividend of 10 per cent., plus a bonus dividend of 2J per cent. Books will be closed on July 6 to 25—both days inclusive.
