False Start At Nelson

In the first division of the Probationer’s Handicap on the second day of the Nelson Trotting Club's winter meeting today the starter declared a false start when the outside horse Suzie Wong lunged at the barrier tape and broke
it. After the second division of the Pitt Handicap L. H Broom, the owner-trsinei-drtver of Mile End. was fi.ied £lO for careless driving causing interference in the straight.
In the second leg of the double, the Achilles Handicap, the trainer, D. J Townley, was fined £lO for the late scratching of Jacobite.
F E Newfield, the trainer of Singaway. was fined £lO for the late scratching of that horse in the Achilles Handicap.
