(N Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) PERTH, June 10
The Western Australian Trotting Association has imposed restrictions on the importation of trotting horses from Australian states and New Zealand. The restriction does not apply to brood bares and unraced young horses. The move was made to check a flood of inferior horses to Western Australia from other states and New Zeeland, the association said , The WA.TA. has advised the Inter-Dominion Confertjice that people wanting to send a horse to Western Australia or to buy a horse m another state or New Zea!a >d. must submit to the association a record of performances together a veterinary certificate. The Western Australian Trotting Association will then decide whether the horse will be allowed to race in Western Australia.
Recently die New South Wales Trotting Club requested trotting authorities in Western Australia to inspect all trotting horses imported from New South Wales in the last couple of years. This followed a recent Queensland case where a well-performed New South Wales pacer was “rung-in” at a trotting meeting. Inquiries are still proceeding m this case.
