New Zealand did import catt'- from the United States, where the disease is prevalent But there have been no imports from there since then

“These things take some :me.” said Dr Jamieson this afternoon when asked about ’he progress of the discussions

"You can say that the talks are only in their preliminary' stages The Australian decision was made as a result the recommendation of that country’s experts not to let the disease into their country “Our argument i? simply that we do not have, the J isease in New Zealand, and «•> should be allowed to export to Australia But we ar, appreciate their anxiety ae we are not the only tountry involved in their ban ”
