Bashed By Thief

AUCKLAND. June 10. An elderly Henderson resident was knocked down and badly bashed by a man he tried to stop when he saw him stealing wine from a vineyard yesterday afternoon
The victim was Thomas Edwards, aged 71. of Lincoln road
About 4 p.m he saw a man with three jars of wine coming from the property of Bordeaux Wines opposite
He accosted him and' the intruder pulled off Mr Edwards’s spectacles and then knocked him down and ran off Mr Edwards’s nose was fractured and his teeth oierced his lip.
