LAWN TENNIS Four Teams Win Again In Winter Contest
Four teams won for the second time when the second day of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association's winter inter-cHib competition was played at Wilding Park yesterday. The unfinished match between St. Albans and Avonaide II had been completed in the meantime with a win for St. AJbans and St Albans was one of the teams which won again yesterday. The points are:—St. Albans 2. Opawa 2. South Christchurch 2. Beckenham 2. University 1. Avonside I 1, Avonside II 0. Avonside 111 0, Redcliffs 0. Sumner 0. Yesterday's matches were played in bitter conditions but olayers seemed to enjoy themselves. Redcliffs v. Beckenham Mens Doubles—D. Ferguson and R Harkess lost to W. Davis and H. Gover. 2-6, 2-6. Women's Doubles.—Mesdames N. Milne and D. Dove beat Misses M P. Shanahan and N. Cromie. 6-4. 6-5. Mixed Doubles.—Harkess and Mrs Milne beat Gover and Miss Shanahan. 9-7; Ferguson and Mrs Dove lost to Davis and Miss Cromie, 5-8; Harkess and Mrs Milne lost to Davis and Miss Cromie. 8-9: Ferguson and Mrs Dove lost to Gover and Miss Shanahan. 1-9. Beckenham won by 4 matches to 2. Sutnner v. South Christchurch' Men's Doubles.—E. Watson and J McDougall beat R. Whitley and D. Murphy. 6-5. 4-6. 6-3. Women's Doubles.—Miss C Andrew and Mrs E. Wood beat Mrs L. Nation and Miss B. Kirton. 6-2. 6-5. Mixed Doubles—Watson and Miss Andrew lost to Whitley and Mrs Nation. 6-9; McDougall
and Mrs Wood lost to Murphy and Miss Kirton. 5-9; Watson and Miss Andrew lost to Murphy and Miss Kirton, 6-9: McDougall and Mrs Wood lost
to Whitley and Mrs Nation. 3-9. Sumner won by 5 sets to 4. University v. Avonside 111 Men’s Doubles. D. E Fletcher and D. D. M. Stewart beat D. McDonald and R McKenzie. 4-6. 6-0. 6-5. Women s Doubles—Misses P Kerr and C. Davies lost to Mrs D McDonald and Miss M. Finney, 0-6. 3-6. Mixed Doubles Fletcher and Miss Davies beat McDonald and Mrs McDonald. 9-6; Fletcher and Miss Davies lost to McKenzie and Miss Finney. 8-9; Stewart and Miss Kerr beat McKenzie and Miss Finney. 9-1; Stewart and Miss Kerr beat McDonald and Mrs McDonald.

Jamieson and Mrs McNicol lost to Wright and Mrs Robinson. 4-9; Edgar and Mrs Rixon beat Teear and Mrs Teear. 9-3; Jamieson and Mrs McNicol beat and Mrs Teear. 9-8; Edgar and Mrs Rixon lost to Wright and Mrs Robinson. 4-9 St. Albans won by 4 matches to 2 Opawa v.
