AMATEUR TITLE FOR LUNT

M. R. Lunt, a 28-year-old Walker Cup international, won the British amateur golf title at St. Andrews on Saturday. In the first all-English final for more than 30 years, Lunt defeated J. Blackwell, a 48-year-old retired schoolmaster, by two and one over 36 holes. The match was all square after a drab morning round. Blackwell, a dub golfer, who was considered a 1000 to 1 ouisider when the week began, enjoyed an occasional drink from a flask during the match and sat on a lightweight canvas seat While Lunt was playing.
