Sneddon on a knockout in the second round on Saturday. The heavyweight bout was watched by Mr G. O’Leary, of Wellington, chairman of the selection panel to select a New Zealand team to tour Australia later this season. Both Sneddon and Logan had been nominated. Logan had Sneddon on the ropes in the first round following a hard right and left hook. The hard-punching Sneddon could not score effectively with his right and he was twice dropped to the canvas by smashing left hooks before the referee, Mr J. Beban awarded the fight on a knockout. Another nominee for the Australian tour, P. Bell, won a middleweight contest over Wellington’s S. Lauparama on a unanimous decision.

Bell gave a scientific display. winning every round. In the final round he scored with some good body blows an dropped the Wellington fighter to the canvas for a count of nine. However, the final bell rang as Lauparama got up.
