WINGATUI TRACK

Good Winter Going? “Ths Press'* Special Service DUNEDIN, June 7. . Mr L. G. de la Perrelle, the secretary of the Dunedin Jockey Club, reported that the stewards of his club inspected the Wingatui course in a car without chains late this afternoon. They were amazed at the good winter going and it was decided that the races would be definitely held provided that the Owhlro Creek does not bank up and flood the back straight This appeared unlikely this afternoon. Water is lying on both sides of the water jump and if this has not subsided by tomorrow morning the steeplechase course will be rearranged to delete the water jump and the brush at the top of the straight. If this is necessary, a brush fence will be erected near the water jump on the course proper with another fence in the straight The double brush in the straight will be done away with. If today's weather conditions continue, the members’ stand facilities will be open to the public.
