Lake Manapouri
Sir, —As a member of one of the last parties to share in first-hand appreciation of the Manapouri - Doubtful Sound track, I wish to add my protest to those already made regarding the destruction planned at Lake Manapouri. The underground powerhouse would function adequately and effectively without any raising of the lake level. Sometimes mistakes can be rectified, but such despoliation would be irreparable. Are New Zealanders going to allow this vandalism to take place?— Yours, etc., •
