FLOODED FARMS
Minister Sees Damage (N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER, June 6. The Minister of Works (Mr Goosmah) will recommend to the Government that an emergency committee be set up to help rehabilitate floodstricken farmlands north of Napier. The Minister told about 30 farmers of his intention after a 90-minute tour today of the storm-ravaged Tangoio and Pakuratahi valleys. He said he could not commit anybody "I’ll do what I can.” This afternoon he visited Bay View, where many families evacuated their homes, and the Esk Valley.
