Trainer Had Heavy Fall
The Washdyke trainer, P. H. C. Stock, had his skull fracturtd in a fall at a point-to-point meeting at Pleasant Point on Wednesday. He was riding Super Robin, which crashed into a gorse fence. Stock was admitted to hospital. Napoleon Bonaparte and Golden Syrup, two members of -his teanr engaged at Wingatui today, are now under the care of the trainer’s son, L. D Stock, who will ride Napoleon Bonaparte in the Otago Steeplechase.

In a written answer to a question in the House of Commons, the Parliamentary undersecretary of the Home Office (Mr C Woodhouse) said about £3,500.000 would' be distributed to assist horse breeding societies, veterinary education and horse racing from funds made available by a bookmakers’ levy and an added amount available for distribution from totalisator operations.
