F.D. Sykes: "Capped" At 35
To be 35 years of age and still playing serious Rugby is unusual. But to be 35 and chosen as a wing three-quarters in a test match is remarkable. F. D. Sykes, the Yorkshire wing who will play
against New Zealand today. is probably the oldest back selected for an international game. Sykes first played for England in 1955 but was dropped after the Lions’ tour of South Africa. This will be his first test match since that tour.
