Tai Tapu Garden Club
Tai Tapu Garden Club trofbies for the last year were presented at the recent annual meeting of the club by the patroness (Mrs J Fieeken 1 ). Results were:—
Cop for most points over all classes: Mrs T. Wheeler 1, Mrs D. Whyte 2. Decorative: A class, Mrs M. Williams 1, Mesdames L. Dulieu, B. Witte, J. Ryan 2. Decorative: 3 class, Mrs L. Cutler 1, Mrs J. MacMillan 2. Out flowers: Mrs T. Wheeler 1, Mrs R. Scorgie 2. Vegetables: Mrs D Whyte 1, Mrs A. Barwick 2. Officers elected for the coming year were: patroness, Mrs J. Fieeken; president. Mrs E. Hall; vice-presidents. Mrs R. Miller and Miss P. Heinzmann: secretarytreasurer, Mrs R. Moir: raffle steward, Mrs D. Graham; competition stewards, Mesdames E. Clark and J. Tobeck; sales table stewards. Mesdames T. Williamson and L. Cutler; reporter, Mrs F. W. Fieeken; committee, Mesdames A. Barwick, B. Witte, J. MacMillan, T. Wheeler and J. Ryan.
Wshines’ Club.— Mrs L. S Suggate spoke on her duties as a magistrate in the English courts at the second hui of the Christchurch Wahines’ Club recently. The guest artist (Mrs J. Bull I played saxophone solos accompanied by Wahine E. Higgins. Other items were given by Wahines A. Barker, M. Hutton, B. Sharp, B. Dixon, E. Pickles, J. Russell, B. Harris, M. Newman, D. Jonathan, A. Kinraid, and the choir lead by Wahine M. Harrison and accompanied by Wahine D. Blythe.
