On present indications it appears that more people are coming to the South Island for the holiday than are leaving it.
New Radio Station
Station 3YD, Christchurch, will begin transmission on Monday, June 10 It will be on the air from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m from Monday to Saturday, and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays. Anzac Day, Good Friday and Christmas Day will be treated as Sundays. The programmes from the station will be restricted to recordings of “middlebrow" music. The station will *be a commercial one and advertisements are being solicited from the business community. Mr C H Cook, the manager of Station 3ZB, will also be the manager of the new station.
