The three leading players of the Christchurch Squash Rackets Club have been nominated fqr the New Zealand team which will visit Australia in August They are G. A. Davidson. M. J. Simons, and P. L. Mackenzie.
Davidson is a former New Zealand representative, and Mackenzie has played for the South Island. Both are former national junior title-holders. Simons, now a doctor tn Christchurch, played squash in Dunedin while at medical school. His progress last season was rapid, and he was selected for the South Island team ahead of Davidson and Mackenzie.
Unfortunately, the immediate future for Simons Is still in some doubt, because of an injury to his right shoulder sustained while playing an exhibition match against the visiting professional M. Dardlr.
