Heels
Sir, —The lady who argued with a staff member of the Canterbury Museum as to whether her heels were ‘■stiletto,” might have settled the point with a practical test to discover if they marked the cork flooring. If they did, even though they be “slim heels” or “gamins,” we citizens should back up the staff to the ..ilt in preventing damage to the building which incorporates our money, our affection, and our esteem. Fashionable women who puncture the floors with pointed heels are as guilty of vandalism as the budgies who throw stones through windows.—Yours, etc., ELSIE LOCKE. May 27, 1963.
