Heating System At School- Ready
An eleventh-hour success with the new heating system at the Christchurch Girls' High School dashed pupils’ hopes of an extra day's holiday when school resumed for the second term on Tuesday
j The principal (Miss P. M. Robinson) had obtained the approval of the board of governors on Monday night to send third-form and fourthform pupils home if their classrooms were not heated when school began. Ministry of Works staff turned on the heating shortly before assembly, and classrooms were comfortably warm before the morning interval. “Although it may have ( been a sad .result for the pupils, the outcome was gratifying,” Miss Robinson said.
