Soccer AUCKLAND VISIT
Proposed Date Unavailable Plans by the Auckland Football Association for a twomatch visit to Christchurch and Wellington in September will have to be revised. The management committee of the Canterbury Football Association last night received a letter from the Auckland body suggesting September 8 as the date for an Auckland v. Canterbury match in Christchurch. The letter said it was hoped to arrange a match against Wellington on the preceding day. But, as the president (Mr J. Smith) pointed out. Canterbury and Wellington have already agreed to play the second leg of the Gordon Cup in Christchurch on September 7. The committee resolved to offer the Otago Association August 3 as the date for the first leg of the Jones Cup, in Christchurch; and to offer Southland September 1 for a representative match in Invercargill This would be the day following the return Canterbury v. Otago match in Dunedin.
