Wool Prices Firm At Wanganui Sale

WANGANUI, May 28. All grades of wool were firm compared with last week’s Napier prices at the Wanganui sale today. Better style second-shear and lambs’ wool tended in sellers’ favour. Today’s was the last sale of the season at Wanganui. A catalogue of 18,300 bales was submitted to a full bench of buyers. The offering comprised mainly second-shear with a few lines of fleece, some lambs, and the .usual oddments. Although seed and stain were showing to some extent, the over-all picture was one of fairly well picked lots with the colour and style

Prestige, Ltd., hosiery and lingerie maker, has lifted ordinary dividend from 10 to 12J per cent., after a big jump in group profit fox the year to March 31. Profit for the year almost doubled from £ 166,588 to £312,787, according to a preliminary report. Earning rate on steady ordinary capital is up from 16.7 per cent, to 34 per cent.
