MILL FOR NYLON
One Firm Not Interested (N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, May 28 The Von Kohorn group of companies of America is not interested in the Nelson cotton mill building for its proposed nylon industry in New Zealand. The vice-president, Mr Ralph Von Kohorn, said this to the Mayor of Nelson (Mr D N. Strawbridge) when he received a Nelson deputation jn Wellington yesterday. Mr Von Kohorn, who registered the New Zealand company last week, said no decision had yet been made on a site for the industry The cotton mill building was too large and a separate building would be needed designed to meet the needs ot the industry, Mr Straw - bridge reported this morning. A technical expert from the group would visit Zealand in the near future. Nelson would be included in the centres he would visit. Mr Von Kohorn had already spent some time in New Zealand prospecting sites for the industry. He visited Nelson unannounced, inspected the cotton mill buildings, the port and district facilities.
