THE NEW TYPE OF PERMANENT PLATE, to be issued at this year’s relicensing for motor-cycles, powercycles, and dealers' vehicles, being inspected by the Minister of Transport (Mr McAlpine) and Traffic Officer G. R. Bruce, of Petone. The plates will be of aluminium, with symbols of natural aluminium colour on a black background. Dealers’ plates will be designated by the letter “D,” with the licence label displayed on the rear plate. Commercial vehicles will probably have the new plates next year, and private cars in 1966.
